Triple-Sensor Casio G Shock GW9400

G Shock Rangeman

For many years, G-Shock watches have been one of the best go-to brands for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s tough, durable, and has an appealing design.

However, G-Shock definitely leveled up their game with the introduction of their Master of G series.

This series boasts of being equipped with some of the best and advanced technologies, especially for certain groups of people. Who might these people be?

Professional divers, military, hikers, and others! Safe to say, the Master of G series was always meant for people out and about under extreme conditions.

Even if you don’t fall under any of those occupations, nothing should stop you from getting this. If at all, you’re gaining a lot from having this.

Introducing the Best Survival Watch

As if the Master of G series wasn’t impressive enough by itself, Casio managed to surprise us with the G Shock Rangeman yet again.

To date, the GW 9400 has been dubbed as one of the best survival watches in the market. Who knew you could use that as a label?

Truth be told, we were overjoyed to get our hands on the G Shock Rangeman after hearing many awesome reviews about it.

We heard it had a ton of impressive and innovative features, which we wanted to test out for ourselves.

Casio: The Image of Beauty and Perfection in One

G Shock’s have an all too familiar look. It looks rugged, but in a good way, of course, and intimidating.

At first glance, the G Shock Rangeman watch didn’t surprise us as much. But a closer look and examination of the watch definitely changed our minds.

Right out of the box, you can already see you’ve made the right choice.

It even comes in different colors!

Each looks pretty impressive. With its tough and thick resin band, coupled with bright accents depending on your preference.

The black watch sports a nice red accent, while the green watch has bright yellow accents. The colors pair beautifully, which gives it an overall seamless appearance.

Lightweight Watch

For such a tough-looking watch, you’d think it would be heavy on your wrist.

We were surprised to know the Casio Rangeman only weighs an impressive 10 ounces. That’s hardly considered heavy!

But don’t mistake this lightweight watch to be flimsy. It’s quite the opposite. It feels robust on the hand, and you can feel its durable construction.

Durable Window

When it comes to watches, the most fragile part is usually the window. It could break in one drop, especially if it’s made of glass material.

With the G Shock Rangeman, durability is definitely the least of your concerns. We’re sure about it.

The window of the Rangeman is made of mineral crystal, making it highly scratch-resistant.

The material adds an extra layer of protection to the window, so you can enjoy your Rangeman watch for an extended time.

The Much Awaited Innovative Features

The real beauty of the Rangeman lies not with its design but its features.

If you were already impressed with its looks, wait until you hear about what’s in store for you.

We’re telling you now the features are definitely one of a kind. It’s not just your basic countdown timer anymore!

You can’t find a watch that could compare to this. Here’s why:

Digital Compass

The Rangeman sports a digital compass that’s easy to use. It doesn’t require a high learning curve, and beginners can certainly enjoy this feature.

We love how the compass can accurately measure and display direction. Thanks to its bidirectional calibration and magnetic declination, you’ll always find your way back.

If you’re up for a hiking adventure, the GW 9400 compass comes in handy!

Triple Sensor Technology

One of the main selling features of the GW 9400 is its Triple Sensor Technology. It’s especially designed for adventurers or backpackers who are always on the go.

The name essentially says it all, and sports triple sensor features: altimeter, barometer, and thermometer.

The altimeter is even more useful when navigating through unfamiliar territory. If you don’t have a GPS device with you, trust the altimeter as your sidekick/adventure buddy.

Now the barometer is also impressive since it can predict the weather for you. You don’t have to keep guessing whether the atmosphere is on your side or not.

And finally, the thermometer gives you an accurate reading of your temperature.

Together, these three features function as a lifesaver for whenever you’re outdoors, camping, backpacking, you name it! It can determine weather conditions, your altitude, and even temperature.

Can others do that for you? Certainly not.

Solar Powered

In general, G Shock battery life is impressive in itself. You barely need to change the battery, and sometimes never at all.

The Casio Rangeman is certainly no exception because it is, after all, solar-powered.

It’s solar charging capabilities are pretty solid. Whenever you’re out for adventure, the Rangeman is practically charging itself all on its own. That’s the beauty of solar power!

Say goodbye to having to go through another battery change.

Built-In Memory System

Believe it or not but the Rangeman comes with a built-in memory. You can save up to an impressive 40 records with no problem!

And trust us when we say that amount is already pretty big for a watch.

Rangeman’s one-touch recording is effortless to use, and you can save information like sunrise and sunset data, barometric pressure records, altitude, and more.

Resistant to Nearly Everything

Casio G Shock wasn’t kidding when they said that the Rangeman is resistant. Why do we say that?

Well, the design of the Rangeman was meant to withstand a lot of things, whether it be mud, water, and even drops.

The watch is highly shock resistant, just like your other G Shock’s! So you don’t have to worry about damaging this watch.

The Rangeman is also water-resistant and can withstand waters up to to 200 meters deep.

The Watch for Different Time Zones

Always traveling? Tired of adjusting the time when you set foot on foreign land?

Then you’ll enjoy the world time feature of this watch. You don’t have to change the time frequently since the Rangeman automatically does it for you!

Thanks to its multi-band atomic timekeeping, you’ve got the time of the whole world on your wrist.

How to Find the Right Casio G Shock Watch for You

There’s a ton of G Shocks out there, and sometimes it’s a challenge to choose which one to buy.

G Shocks are available in nearly all sorts of color, for different professions, and the GW 9400 is a prime example of how diverse their watches get.

How do you know which G Shock is for you? Let’s find out.

Digital G Shocks

The most basic, earliest, and simplest G Shock you can find is the digital version or model.

The digital models look like a G Shock, minus a ton of buttons on the body.

It has a simple negative display that tells the time, date, and more. Safe to say, it’s a basic and decent tool to wear on your wrist.

Later models of the digital type integrate other basic features like countdown timer, stopwatch, alarms, and more.

But G Shock definitely went to greater lengths to make sure their digital variants stood out.

Today, you’ll find a variety of digital versions offering sensor features, a compass, wide display, sunrise/ sunset indicator, and more.

Analog-Digital Hybrid G Shocks

As its name suggests, the Analog-Digital type of watch has a unique look. It sports traditional hands while at the same time having a digital display.

It’s definitely a head-turner because the design is unlike what most people are used to. It’s either all information is on a single digital negative display, or none at all.

The only cons we can say the design can be a bit much on the wrist.

Analog G Shocks

G Shock also manufactures analog models. Safe to say, the design sports a combination of traditional types because of the hands and the rugged appearance of G Shocks.

Casio definitely goes over and beyond with their Analog watches. On the display, you can find the main hands itself, and other tiny windows for other features.

Rangeman Review Verdict

There’s no doubt that the Rangeman watch is the best watch to get your hands on now. It’s hard to find any cons about it!

Hailing from a popular brand worldwide, you can’t go wrong.

Imagine the ton of features you get for the price of one. It’s versatile, functional, and more. Not to mention, you can enjoy up to 10 years and over with the GW 9400.

The next time you’re faced with a choice of which watch to get, don’t forget the Rangeman!
